LEONEL KAPLAN IS A CATALYTIC PRESENCE IN THE FREE IMPROVISED MUSIC SCENE, GOING BACK TO THE EARLY 2000S ONWARD.

Born in Buenos Aires and now based in Belgrade, Leonel has traveled the world collaborating with renowned musicians such as Christof Kurzmann, John Butcher, Klaus Fillip, Tetuzi Akiyama, Audrey Chen, Jonas Kocher, Paul Pignon, Birgit Ulher, Ilia belorukov, Axel Dörner, Nate Wooley, Greg Kelly, diego chamy, Franz Hautzinger, Edén Carrasco, Le Quan Ninh, Bhob Rainey, Michel Doneda, Tatsuya Nakatani, Marina Džukljev, wade matthews and Ivar Grydeland, between many others.

Additionally, Kaplan composes music for dance, theatre, and light installations, collaborating on projects for Allora & Calzadilla, Capriconnection, Nicole Bindler, Ly Thanh Thien, and more recently Aleksandra Stratimirovic.

His music is available on various labels, including Another Timbre, Relative Pitch, ESP-DISK’, and others.
